The hardened and tempered hook jaw eliminates breakage, whilst the flash hardened teeth increase wear resistance. The nut abutment means that all loading is transferred direct from the handle to the nut and jaw via the nut abutment, insuring that the frame is not load bearing, thus reducing the possibility of frame failure.
